REGARDING recent letters in the Echo concerning litter on our local beaches, I seem to be missing something here.
Part lV of the Environmental Protection Act of 1990 Section 87 states that “It is a criminal offence for a person to drop, throw down, leave or deposit litter in a public place”.
This carries a maximum fine of £2,500.
The question is, where is our law enforcement whilst these crimes are being constantly committed? Over to you Mr Police Commissioner!
