ANOTHER spot-on letter from A Burden (July 29) regarding the current road closures for the benefit of cyclists.
Does it ever occur to Cllr Andy Hadley and his chums at BCP Council that cars will simply be forced to use alternative routes thereby increasing traffic volume on other roads, increasing pollution and delay and, in addition, why should motorists who pay significant road tax be penalised yet again (eg East Overcliff Drive on to Manor Road).
Whist writing, it is surely time for all bikes to have a mandatory reference number for owner identification, be charged a small road tax and most importantly of all, be insured as the accident level will inevitably increase to the further detriment of motorists.
