I UNDERSTAND that the Conservative bloc on BCP Council have submitted a motion of ‘no confidence’ in the current Unity Alliance administration.
To anyone with even a passing interest in local politics, this move must be seen as cynical and opportunistic at the very least.
Can such a move be genuinely seen as being in the best interests of the local people and area? Or isn’t it better that, at this critical time both nationally and locally, all parties support the existing administration – much as the Tories expect for central government?
To date, the Unity Alliance have proven to be effective and efficient and a change of administration at this time would only be counter-productive and self-defeating.
