WHILST I understand there is a pandemic, BCP Council have allowed the use of beach huts and the beach but without opening all the toilet facilities. People are urinating at the sides of residential huts. It’s disgusting.
I have contacted the beach front in Southbourne to ask about the opening of at least the disabled toilets. But they say social distancing measures will not allow some toilets to open due to the width of the promenade and skeleton staff! This is just ridiculous.
There is ample room for people to queue on the promenade. No plan has been put in place for the disabled. My partner has a Crohn’s disability and is unable to enjoy the beach hut because of this.
Please BCP Council use some common sense. If you were really worried about social distancing and not enough room on the promenades, maybe closing the car parks would have been a better option therefore discouraging large groups of people onto our beaches.
