SURPRISE, surprise.

Yet again another letter in Thursday’s Echo from Dr Martin Rodger knocking the duly elected government of this country in the actions they are taking in dealing with what is undoubtedly the worst situation that the whole of humanity has faced in our life time.

Given the magnitude of what descended upon us all so quickly, very difficult decisions had to be made on our behalf by those whom we choose to govern us. They were and still are faced with something that is a global, life-threatening problem and we should give them and all who are endeavouring to rid the world of this pandemic and keep us safe and well fed our full support at this time.

The final paragraph from Dr Martin Rodger states, ”They need reminding to not waste time dreaming up ridiculous excuses but to deal with the job in hand.”

I am sure I am not alone in saying that under the circumstances not only Boris Johnson and his team but everyone else working tirelessly to keep us all safe and well are dealing with the job in hand and for that we are eternally grateful.

As for “wasting time” I am guilty of that by bothering to read any such articles that wish only to condemn the actions being taken by our government rather than show some support for the decisions being made by them in conjunction with the advice of the leading scientists in the country.

Now is not the time for negativity, now is the time for all of us to be thankful that there are people working hard to get us all through this and we should be thankful and show them some positive support.
