AS a large part of St Catherine’s Hill in Christchurch was destroyed by fire, this surely is the right time to solve the terrible traffic jams on the 'Christchurch By-pass' which actually has never been a by-pass.

How can it be whilst running through the said town.

Years ago there was going to be another road actually bypassing Christchurch town and join the A338 Spur Road at Hurn.

This was not passed owing to snakes and lizards.

There is no excuse now as Hampshire and Dorset have an abundance of these creatures and many heathlands.

I am sure many councillors have suffered the terrible jams at the ‘by-pass’ in Christchurch.

So come on Dorset County Council, make a decision and plan a road through St Catherine’s Hill to the Spur Road and relieve the misery for all.

The fire damage will not recover for years, so be bold and review the original plans.
