We now learn that the proposed rail crossing from the Harbour Reach development to Hamworthy Park has increased from under £400,000 not to £500,000 but to over £700,000!
This sacred cow has been led up and down the farmyard long enough!
It is time to face the reality that this crossing, within a couple of hundred metres of the existing crossing is totally unnecessary and a waste of money.
Even if the costs do not escalate further, this money could be far better allocated towards a means of foot-crossing from the Old Town.
It is time for the council to think of the taxpayers’ best interests and think again.
