ALTHOUGH not wishing to comment on the rights or wrongs of the teachers’ strike, we are foremost community councillors. As such may we through your pages give a special thanks to the head teachers of Upton Infants School and Upton Junior School and all those that helped, for keeping the school buildings open for the children of Upton on the day of the recent teachers strike.
It certainly helped many working families and the children enjoy their fun day. It showed a true community spirit.
We are also aware of other local schools that remained open for their children including Lytchett Matravers primary school.
