I FIND it extremely hard to understand why the issue of not buying Throop Mill from Heygates has not yet occurred. The mill is such an historical building for Bournemouth and its surrounds and could be put to such good use ie restaurant, museum, coffee and chocolate shop etc, and I am sure many other ideas could be found. I keep hearing that the owners will not sell, but other than Councillors Whittaker and Rey, who else has been seriously trying? The two councillors that I have just mentioned have given maximum effort to buying Throop Mill, why is there not more support for them? A petition requiring 100,000 signatures has been mentioned by 15-year- old Kieran (good on you Kieran).
I would put my name to it straight away if/when it is organised as would many others. My plea to all people of Bournemouth, don’t be apathetic, help young Kieran to get this petition started before the Mill is lost to rot and decay too badly.
