FOLLOWING on from the horrific report in the Echo (January 8) about road deaths I thought I’d suggest something that will reduce the risk, particularly for Christchurch’s Bargates, Barrack Road and High Street where drivers (having been held up by the congestion on the bypass) feel this is the time to catch up by putting their foot down.

A 20mph limit... it has been tried in many other places with great success, costs next to nothing to introduce and would, indeed, save money and may ease the congestion on the bypass.
