I AM researching the bombing of the gas works in Bourne Valley Road on March 27 1941, which tragically killed 33 gas workers, when a bomb hit the staff canteen, when many of the workers were having their lunch.
I would be very interested to meet either, but hopefully both, Tony King and Clifford Bailey, who I understand both survived the disaster and still live locally.
I would be grateful if Mr King and/or Mr Clifford, or anyone else who remembers the bombing could contact me on 01202 479452.
