AFTER many years of campaigning and reminding the authorities of the urgency of the urgent requirement to replace the rotting and derelict footbridge near Throop Mill, Cllr Ron Whittaker has at last achieved his desire to see a new weir bridge.
He has received the good news from Dorset County’s Chief Engineer.
The work will start in next year’s spring. It would be a surely appropriate mark of recognition of the continuous efforts waged by Cllr Whittaker to name the new bridge ‘Whittaker Bridge’.
