RISING star Amy Brown struck gold nine times to lead a medal bonanza for the hosts at the Swim Bournemouth Spring Open Meet.

In a two-day competition that attracted 350 swimmers from 33 clubs to Littledown, Swim Bournemouth notched 37 gold, 37 silver and 23 bronze medals.

Eleven-year-old Amy followed up recent successes at the Dorset championships and the inaugural Wycombe meet with a triple hat-trick of wins in her age group, plus two silver medals.

Her wins came in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke, 100m and 200m individual medley (IM) and 50m freestyle.

Callum McGregor and Angus Corbin also won four golds each.

McGregor’s wins included the 15yrs 50m and 200m breaststroke and 200m butterfly, while Corbin won the 9yrs 50m freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke and the 100m IM.

Two golds apiece went to Henry Stanbrook in the 50m and 100m backstroke and Josh Wickens in the 100m and 200m butterfly. For the girls, Morgan Long (50m breaststroke and butterfly,) Abby Manns (100m and 200m breaststroke) and Issy Hepburn (50m breaststroke and 200m IM) claimed double glory.

Kath Baker, Drew McGregor, Toby Kitchener, Maddy Warmer, Archie Corbin, Ollie Fairman, Ella Bowman, Alex Palotai-Avella and Jess Richens all claimed a gold, while Max Looker enjoyed silver linings aplenty.
