ELLINGHAM & Ringwood were subjected to a galling 23-20 defeat at Overton in Hampshire One.
The visitors started well when inside-centre Archie Cockayne made an interception and scored under the posts. Josh Butcher kicked the conversion and then added a penalty.
A delicate chip from Dave Jones led to fly-half Charlie Cockram scoring a good try which was converted by Butcher to open up a 17-0 lead.
However, an Overton try made it 17-5.
After the restart, the hosts scored two early tries before Butcher kicked a further penalty.
Another Overton score and a late penalty secured victory, with Ellingham having to be content with a losing bonus point.
