DORSET star Georgia Hall will this week tee it up for the second time in the star-studded Honda LPGA Thailand.

The Wimborne-based professional is preparing to compete in a field of 70 – including the top six players in the world – at the event staged at Siam Country Club, Chonburi.

Hall comes into the tournament off the back of a flawless final round at the Women’s Australian Open – her first start as an LPGA Tour member.

She carded a final-round 67 to finish in a tie for 13th alongside American pair Tiffany Joh and Cristie Kerr, the trio each banking $20,051 for their exploits.

Three rounds of 72 and a 73 during last season’s Honda LPGA Thailand earned the former Canford Kid outright 53rd at one over par.

The tournament was won by South Korea’s Amy Yang, who returns to defend her crown.

Other past champions competing at the $1,600,000 showcase are Lexi Thompson and Anna Nordqvist – the latter a successful partner of Hall’s in last year’s Solheim Cup.

Ranked 31st in the world, the former Oakmead College student is paired with American Angel Yin in the opening round.

The duo are the earliest group off the first tee on Thursday, at 12.30am UK time.
