TWO expensive rounds cost Hayley Davis as her bid to earn a Ladies' European Tour card ended in disappointment.

The top 60 and ties after 72 holes advanced to a fifth, decisive round at Lalla Aicha Tour School in Morocco, the former Canford Kid narrowly missing out.

Davis opened with a two-under-par 70 at the Palmgolf course on Saturday and moved into a tie for third after shooting 68 on the Amelkis course 24 hours later.

However, despite this promising start, the challenge of the Ferndown Golf Club star started to fall away yesterday.

She plummeted to 44th after carding 78 at Palmgolf, which included five bogeys, one double bogey and one triple bogey.

And a 76 at Amelkis today meant she missed the cut by two shots.

The top 25 following tomorrow's fifth round will receive a tour card for next season, with the top five getting a more favourable category.

A close friend of LET order of merit winner Georgia Hall, Davis turned professional two years ago.
