DAILY Echo readers are being urged to nominate Bournemouth-born golfer Georgia Hall for a prestigious award.

Hall has helped put the town and the county of Dorset on the golfing map with her exploits on the global stage this season.

The 21-year-old, who attended Elmrise Primary and Oakmead College, is in contention to finish top of the Ladies European Tour order of merit.

A keen Cherries follower, she is currently enjoying her best run of form since turning professional three years ago.

Over the past few weeks, Hall has finished tied third at the Ricoh British Open and claimed a share of 10th place at the Evian Championship – both Majors on the women’s circuit.

She also made her debut in the Solheim Cup and won the most points for a European rookie in the competition against America.

Hall is currently flying high at the top of the leaderboard in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España Femenino in Malaga.

The Sunday Times is seeking nominations for its sportswomen of the year awards, in association with Vitality – sponsors of AFC Bournemouth’s Dean Court.
