DORSET’S Georgia Hall maintained her impressive recent form by recording a top-10 finish at the Evian Championship in France – the fifth Major in women’s golf.

Her three-round total of four-under-par 209 saw her claim a share of 10th place alongside Korea’s In-Kyung Kim and Ayako Uehara from Japan.

It capped a memorable few weeks for Wimborne-based Hall who finished tied third at the Ricoh British Open in August and then starred on her debut for Europe in the Solheim Cup.

An eventful final round today saw Hall finish with a one-over 72 after birdies at the seventh, 11th and 15th had been offset by bogeys at the second, sixth, 14th and 18th.

Asked following her final round how she had rated her week, Hall said: “It was very enjoyable. I played well today but just couldn’t get a lot going.

“There were some tricky pins out there and I was happy to get up and down on the last for a bogey.

“I am very happy with the week. It is my first time here, so it is another good result.

“I played really well all week and can't really complain.”

Hall’s Solheim Cup partner Anna Nordqvist, with whom she claimed two foursome victories, took first place after beating America’s Brittany Altomare in a play-off.

The Swede banked a cheque for 460,343 euro, while Hall took her career earnings past the 500,000-euro mark after winning around 60,000.
