KIERAN Chambers and Owen Cox scored hat-tricks as Heyford Athletic kept their faint Premier Division title hopes alive when beating Chalgrove Cavaliers 9-0.

Danny Delahunt also netted twice as they closed the gap to the top to 11 points in the Oxfordshire Senior League.

Heyford, who also drew 0-0 with Cropredy last Wednesday, still have six games to play and were boosted by leaders Freeland’s home loss.

An Aaron Dineen hat-trick and Harry Walter strike helped second-placed Cropredy, whose campaign has come to an end, triumph 4-2.

Liam Harris and Danny Taylor netted for Freeland, who are still in control with four games to play.

Mansfield Road and Kennington Athletic, who also have 12 points to fight for, boosted their slim bids.

Luke Brewster, Morgan Brown, James Cockfield, Alex Davis, Awadh Mohammed and Jake Lewis netted as Mansfield moved up to third – nine points off the top – when beating hosts Yarnton 6-2.

Harry Ackland and Dale Truby replied.

Robert Fathers, Frankie Merola and James Smith were on target as Kennington beat Garsington 3-0 to close to within ten points.

Anthony Davidson scored twice, with Elliott Kernaghan also on target, as Charlton United beat Garsington 3-2 at home.

Ethan Waite hit both goals for the visitors.

Charlton also played out a 2-2 draw at home to Bicester United last Wednesday.

Davidson and Callum Cooper netted for hosts Charlton, with Rowan Chappell and Ben Haynes replying.

Meanwhile, Chesterton have been crowned Division 1 champions after beating Hanborough 2-1 at home.

They are now three points clear of second-placed Summertown Stars with a game in hand over their nearest rivals.

Hanborough, who needed to win to claim the runners-up spot and secure promotion, took the lead through Luke Moss.

But Jason White and James Casbierd struck to earn Chesterton the three points and the title.
