POOLE Town have completed the signing of highly-rated striker Jonah Ayunga from Premier League outfit Brighton.

The 20-year-old frontman has joined the National South strugglers on loan until the end of the season.

Ayunga was forced to cut short a loan spell with Galway United in the League of Ireland after breaking his leg in August.

The Kenyan is currently working his way back to fitness and signed for Poole ahead of the transfer window closing tomorrow.

Poole chairman Chris Reeves said: "We will be liaising closely with the player and with Brighton to keep tabs on Jonah’s progress and availability."

Ayunga started his career in the youth ranks at Bridport before joining Dorchester Town after impressing during a trial spell with the Magpies in July 2015.

He netted seven times in 31 appearances for Dorchester before signing for Brighton two years ago in a deal worth around £40,000 to the Dorset club.

Ayunga started out in Seagulls' under-23 squad and made his debut for the first team in a friendly against Dorchester in July 2016.

He has also had loan spells with Burgess Hill Town and Sligo Rovers and had been expected to spend the season with Galway until suffering his injury.

Ayunga received his first call up to the Kenya national team in August 2016 but has yet to win a cap.
