BOSS Matty Holmes is happy to see competition for places hotting up at Wimborne Town.

The Magpies manager, whose side have sealed a hat-trick of victories in November, insists it is “difficult” for him to pick a starting team given his squad’s strong run of form.

First-team regulars Luke Holmes and Matt Oldring are set to come back into contention after serving one-match bans during the 3-1 win against Mangotsfield United.

Their inclusions boost the Cuthbury club’s numbers ahead of the trip to Slimbridge in Southern League West on Saturday (3pm).

Holmes told the Daily Echo: “All the lads want to play and, as manager, you can’t give all of them game time. It’s difficult.

“It’s great to see players coming in, doing a really good job and scoring goals. They deserve to be starting and that’s the way you want it as a manager.

“We know in the past we have had lots of injuries and we have actually struggled to get a team out.

“It’s nice at this moment in time to have the luxury of having 16 players who are all good quality to choose from.”

Victory would give Magpies maximum points from their league schedule this month.
