BOSS Matty Holmes is keeping his fingers crossed that his modestly-sized Wimborne Town squad stays clear of injuries.

Magpies are three fixtures into an eight-game October and take on Cinderford in Southern League West at Cuthbury tomorrow (7.45pm).

League clashes against Swindon Supermarine and Paulton follow before an important FA Trophy visit to Thame and a Dorset Senior Cup meeting with Gillingham.

Holmes told the Daily Echo: "We've got a really tough month and with a small squad, if we get a couple of injuries, we will be in a bit of trouble.

"With injuries to key players, we will struggle a little bit.

"But that's what it's been like and then you have to juggle things and see what's about in the market, any loans or bits and pieces.

"Things change so quickly at this level, as we all know."

Wimborne are currently ninth in the standings with Cinderford six places below them having managed four points fewer.

Cinderford won 1-0 at home to AFC Totton on Saturday, while Holmes's troops were held to a 1-1 draw at North Leigh.
