BOURNEMOUTH captain Chris Park stressed he would not be out to “poach” players during the winter but left the door open for any potential additions to get in touch.

The skipper is set to begin his third campaign leading the Chapel Gate outfit in Southern League Division One next summer, with Lions’ indoor nets beginning next month.

Asked about the club’s recruitment process, he said: “With club cricket you never know, it’s like a rumour mill and I try to keep my distance from it.

“I am not a huge fan of poaching players and I leave it down to them individually.

“If they want to better themselves and want a conversation with me as captain, I am more than happy to talk with them.”

He added: “Our objective will be promotion and trying to get Bournemouth back into the Southern Premier League, which is where we want to be.

“It will be my third year and, hopefully, it will be third time lucky.”

Bournemouth finished third in Division One last season behind league winners Calmore Sports and runners-up Basingstoke & North Hants.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Park is also set for another campaign as skipper of Dorset.
