CHERRIES were left to settle for a 1-1 draw having been pegged back almost instantly at West Ham United.

The visitors opened the scoring through winger Ryan Fraser’s second-half strike, before substitute Chicharito earned a share of the spoils for David Moyes’s men.

The result meant both sides extended to five games their unbeaten records in the Premier League.

Cherries were unchanged from their previous top-flight fixture having beaten Arsenal 2-1 at Vitality Stadium.

The notable squad news for the visitors came on the bench.

Joshua King and Junior Stanislas were among the substitutes for the first time in 2018 following their respective hamstring problems.

There was no Harry Arter in the matchday squad after he was taken ill on the morning of the game.

That meant youngster Kyle Taylor was included in Cherries’ travelling party after featuring from the bench in the 3-0 FA Cup defeat at Wigan on Wednesday.

The teenager joined the club's academy after being spotted playing for Lytchett Red Triangle as a 10-year-old.

James Collins and Marko Arnautovic, who both scored when the sides drew 3-3 at Vitality Stadium on Boxing Day, were included in the hosts’ starting XI.

And it was the Irons who appeared the more threatening of the two teams in the opening exchanges.

Defender Aaron Cresswell advanced forward and drilled an effort just wide of the post from 25 yards out.

A headed clearance from Cherries defender Nathan Ake fell kindly to Hammers skipper Mark Noble, who sent a dipping volley narrowly over the top.

Asmir Begovic in the away goal then showed his quality to keep the score at 0-0.

He came to Cherries’ rescue after a devilish delivery from Pablo Zabaleta was turned goalwards by Austrian Arnautovic.

Having soaked up some early pressure. The Dorset club’s first chance of the contest came from a set-piece on 23 minutes.

After Dan Gosling was fouled by Cheikhou Kouyate, Fraser’s free-kick on the angle fell to Simon Francis, whose drive across goal was stabbed away by Angelo Ogbonna.

Cherries then earned the opportunity try a slick move from the training ground.

A neat one-two between Fraser and Charlie Daniels allowed the former to tee up Lewis Cook on the edge of the area, who sent a curling effort inches wide of the target.

Following the break, the Hammers had appeals for a penalty turned down by referee Martin Atkinson.

He waved play on as Kouyate’s attempted pass appeared to strike the arm of Dutchman Ake from close range.

But the hosts continued to pile on the pressure. Another teasing cross from Zabaleta was parried away by Begovic.

Arnautovic then failed to pull the trigger having run in on goal under pressure from Steve Cook, who did well to recover.

Former West Ham youngster Stanislas was then brought on by Howe to make his comeback.

He replaced Jordon Ibe for his first taste of match action since the defeat to Manchester City on December 23.

And on 71 minutes, Stanislas provided a touch of quality to help put Cherries ahead.

He showed great vision to slide in Fraser, who smashed the ball into the far corner to open the scoring.

But almost as soon as Cherries had raced into the lead, parity was restored  a minute later.

A long ball forward from kick-off was not dealt with by the visitors and after Arnautovic’s initial effort was blocked by Francis, substitute Chicharito pounced to make it 1-1.

Having provided the opener for Howe’s men, Stanislas then took it upon himself to shoot from range. His powerful attempt was beaten away by keeper Adrian.

King then also made his return when he replaced Fraser for the final five minutes, as both sides were left to claim a point apiece.
