CHERRIES have agreed a deal with Saussolo for Ivorian midfielder Hamed Traore, the Daily Echo understands.

Earlier today the Daily Echo reported that Cherries were tracking the Sassuolo player, with reports since suggesting that a deal worth £21million has been agreed between the two clubs.

Those same reports claim that the 22-year-old will travel to England tomorrow to complete a medical ahead of the deadline.

It is believed that the four-time Côte d'Ivoire international will sign a deal running until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Traore currently plies his trade for Sassuolo in Serie A, having made 111 appearances for the Watermelon Peel.

He started his career in Italy with Empoli, winning the Serie B title, the country’s second tier, in 2018.

In total, he has played 140 times in the Italian top flight, scoring 18 times and teeing up 11 goals for his teammates.

His current contract at the Mapei Stadium expires in the summer of 2024.

The 22-year-old represented his country at the African Cup of Nations in January 2022.

He also represented his home country at under-23 level, reaching the final of the under-23 AFCON, where the Ivorians were defeated by Egypt in extra time.

Capable of playing centrally or on the left-wing, Traore turns 23 next month.

Attack minded, Traore is yet another January target for Cherries that likes to get on the ball and dribble, with the Ivorian ranking highly amongst his peers for dribbles completed in Serie A.
