FRUSTRATED Joshua King insists Cherries “threw away two points” in their 2-2 draw against West Ham United this afternoon.

Goals from King and Callum Wilson saw the hosts cancel out Andriy Yarmolenko’s strike to move 2-1 in front at Vitality Stadium.

But the spoils were shared when Aaron Cresswell lashed in with 16 minutes to play.

“We threw away two points, simple,” King told afcbTV.

“(We needed to) take our chances and keep balls out of the box. It’s as easy as that in the Prem, when you give teams chances, they’re going to take it.

“We shouldn’t need to score three goals at home to win a game. It’s everyone’s fault, from the strikers, wingers and midfielders to the defenders. We threw away two points today.”

Eight days on from King having a goal disallowed at Southampton, the striker’s effort against West Ham was initially ruled out because of offside, but the decision was overturned by VAR.

Asked how he felt about the latest intervention from the video technology, King said: “I had it last week against Southampton. This time I didn’t get to celebrate properly.

“To be fair, I didn’t think it would be a goal because the linesman said it was offside, but for once the VAR helped me. Thanks to VAR I got another goal.”
