CALLUM Wilson described as “naughty” the challenge made on him by Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

The Foxes midfielder appeared to lunge in on the Cherries frontman, catching him on the ankle during the second half at King Power Stadium.

Referee Peter Bankes, on his Premier League debut, consulted with VAR Martin Atkinson to review a potential red card for Tielemans, who remained unpunished.

Giving his view of the incident during his team’s 3-1 defeat, Wilson told the Daily Echo: “I have seen it back and I still think it’s a stonewall red.

“It’s a bad challenge. He has tried to protect himself and shield the ball but he’s gone straight over the top of it – not even looking at the ball from what I’ve seen as well.

“He’s not meant it but, at the end of the day, it’s a naughty challenge.”

Tielemans, who had already scored in the encounter, then went on to assist Jamie Vardy’s second goal of the afternoon.

“It’s frustrating the guy didn’t get any sort of card or punishment but I guess VAR looked at it, they made their decision and we will just get on with it,” said Wilson.

“I don’t think the referee saw it, to be honest, because there wasn’t even a yellow card.”
