BOSS Eddie Howe described as “not ideal” goalkeeper Artur Boruc’s surprise appearance in the crowd during Legia Warsaw’s Europa League qualifier at Rangers last night.

The former Poland international was pictured with the away fans at Ibrox – having played for Legia between 1999 and 2005.

Boruc was also understood to have led some of the visitors’ chants with a megaphone during the contest on Thursday night.

He was due to report for training with Cherries this morning ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Leicester (3pm).

Asked whether he knew about his goalkeeper’s journey to watch his former club, Howe said: “I knew about it very late last night.

“It’s not really ideal. I am sure from my perspective, from everyone’s perspective us finding out about it like that.

“It’s something I will have to speak with Artur about.

“To be honest, I don’t know too much about the details of it. I know he was there – it’s something I’ll be discussing with Artur.”

The Legia fans also set off a number of flares which caused the game to be briefly stopped in Scotland.
