DEFENDER Nathan Ake believes “driven” Arnaut Danjuma will be a “very exciting” addition for Cherries.

The 22-year-old sealed a £13.7million move to the Dorset club from Club Brugge earlier this month.

He was ruled out of Cherries’ Premier League curtain-raiser against Sheffield United on Saturday with a foot injury.

But Ake, who played when Danjuma made his international debut for the Netherlands back in October, believes there will be a lot to come from the pacey winger.

Quizzed on his international team-mate, Ake told the Daily Echo: “He is technical, very quick, likes to dribble past people and take on shots as well. I think he will be very exciting.

“He is a very nice guy, chilled. He is very driven and he really wants to do well every time.

“He is a very good player. I am not sure how long it (the injury) will be but if all the injuries come back and the new signings get into the team we have a really strong squad.”

Danjuma had played 90 minutes for Cherries in their final pre-season friendly against Lyon. He revealed he had contacted Ake ahead of his switch to join Eddie Howe’s men.

“He asked how the place was and everything,” said the former Chelsea defender.

“He had a few other options, so he was asking what it was like to be here with the manager and that kind of stuff. I was just trying to give inside information for how the place is.”
