LEICESTER forward Shinji Okazaki could return for tomorrow's Premier League clash with Cherries.

The Japan international, who is boss Claude Puel's only injury concern, has missed the past two top-flight fixtures due to a knee injury,

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Puel said: “Okazaki came back this week and we will see if he can come into the squad for the game."

The manager added: “Shinji plays in support behind Jamie Vardy but is not a number 10. A 10 creates play, creates assists and organises the play of the team.

“Shinji is another striker, behind Jamie, like other players like Demarai Gray, Fousseni Diabate or Kelechi Iheanacho who play in this position and offer good possibilities and opportunities."

With 36 points in the locker, Leicester are almost certain to secure Premier League safety. And Puel has emphasised the need to spread game time around as the season enters its final stretch.

“We've tried to give game time to a lot of players,” said Puel. “We will try to continue this because it is important to keep results going and to improve the players.

“We have a good balance in the squad with two players for every position. All this is important for the future and a good opportunity in case of injuries or suspensions."
