PEAK6 Investments – the company which owns a 25 per cent share in Cherries – is reportedly in negotiations to purchase League of Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk.
The Chicago-based firm’s founder, Matt Hulsizer, is said to have been in talks with club chiefs Paul Brown and Andy Connolly about a potential deal.
The Irish Times reports PEAK6’s plans include rebuilding Dundalk’s Oriel Park home as a 7,500-seater stadium, complete with corporate facilities.
Dundalk have won the League of Ireland Premier Division 12 times, as well as being crowned FAI Cup winners 10 times.
PEAK6 became a minority shareholder of Cherries in 2015 after purchasing a quarter of club owner Maxim Demin’s stake.
In an interview in January last year, Hulsizer said he would like to see Cherries win the Premier League.
Hulsizer acquired a minority stake in ice hockey team Minnesota Wild in February 2015.
