FALCONS enjoyed mixed fortunes in their two under-7s matches on Saturday morning at the Littledown Centre.

Currently in second place in their under-7s league, Falcons had matches against Swallows and the Buzzards who are in third and fourth respectively.

First came the Swallows who scored three quick goals. The Falcons fought back hard with goals from DJ and Williams Pickard to reduce the deficit to just one goal but couldn’t unlock the Swallows defence eventually losing 3-2.

On came the Buzzards for game two. Falcons winger Ollie Jackson was determined to get off to a better start and netted two to give them the early lead.

Falcons never looked back with further goals from Samuel LeBoutillier and Pickard rounding off a 4-0 victory.

Buzzards came close on several occasions thwarted only by goalie DJ’s best performance of the season.

The keeper was helped out by defenders Will Donnison, man-of-the-match Robert Henderson and LeBoutillier who formed a solid back line for the victorious Falcons.

Joel Davidson, meanwhile, played a great game in midfield trying out a new position and thoroughly enjoying himself, while star striker Zak Ford battled hard creating chances for others.
