THE Dorset Girls’ League has started a new competition in order to combat drop-out rates.
In the past few seasons, the league has experienced a decrease in the number of teams and players making the transition from under-12s seven-a-side to under-13s 11-a-side.
To tackle this issue, clubs in the Dorset Girls’ League voted in favour of starting a nine-a-side under-13s division for the current campaign.
Ten teams are playing in the newly-formed competition.
