WESTERN schoolboy winner Billy Harley has reached the last eight of the national under 54kg championship.
The 14-year-old Oakmead ABC boxer beat Charlie Hatfield (Walcot ABC) by a 19-14 scoreline.
A battling final round saw Harley overturn a narrow deficit to take the Western Area title.
He was level after the first and lost the second by just one point before storming to a 6-1 verdict in the last.
“Billy’s bout was one of the best an Oakmead fighter has ever produced,” said head trainer John Hamerston. “Billy has trained so hard and deserves this so much.”
