Cherries striker Michael Symes last night completed a beat-the-deadline loan switch to Cherries’ League One rivals Rochdale.
New Dale boss John Coleman is a long-time admirer of Symes having managed the striker at Accrington Stanley and swooped just hours before the 11pm transfer deadline to sign the 28-year-old until the end of the season.
Symes has struggled to hold down a starting place at Cherries having endured an injury-ravaged spell since signing for the Dorset club in 2010.
The likeable Scouser has been restricted to just 43 appearances in Cherries colours and could have found himself down the pecking order following the £800,000 record signing of frontman Matt Tubbs on Monday.
Symes will remain at Spotland until May 5 when he is expected to return to Cherries.
Symes will join fellow striker Paul McCallum, who has joined Dale on a loan deal from West Ham United.
Symes will not be permitted to play when Cherries play Dale at Spotland on February 18.
