BOSS Adie Arnold has challenged high-flying Verwood Town to prove their Wessex One credentials by showing the consistency to make it a magnificent seven at lowly Warminster.

The Potters will be bidding to continue their charge and secure a seventh successive victory when they visit their 17th-placed rivals tomorrow (3pm).

Verwood are level on points with leaders Brockenhurst at the top of the table and Arnold is determined to keep his men on track.

He is urging them not to slip up against struggling clubs – a problem that hurt their chances last term. Arnold told the Daily Echo: “It is another test for us. Teams keep asking questions of us.

“This will be a big question for us because inconsistency is what has undone us before.

“Last season, we dropped points against the bottom six teams, so tomorrow will be a question of whether we can take our game to Warminster. If we do that, we should win. If we get dragged down, we could come unstuck.”

Discussing the secret to Verwood’s success so far, Arnold added: “Matt Delaney, our captain, has made a massive difference. He is quite a strong character for us. He joined us last season and is a massive influence on and off the pitch.

“Also, we have a settled side and I am making very few changes at the moment.”
