BOURNEMOUTH Sports completed a fantastic treble in the Bournemouth Hayward League with a dramatic victory over Branksome Con.

They added the MA Hart Robbins Cup to their haul with a nail-biting penalty shoot-out triumph at Hurn Bridge, having already bagged the Mark Hart Sunday Senior Cup and Sunday Premier League title.

However, Sports did not have it all their own way in an exciting final, and were made to battle hard before eventually claiming the silverware.

With half time approaching the deadlock was finally broken when Tom Stone split the Branksome defence with a pin-point pass which Tony Bellot collected and beat the advancing Mark Trevor in the Branksome goal to put Sports in front.

Both teams had their chances in the early stages of the second period, but it took until the 70th minute for the next goal to come, as Branksome drew level.

Referee Brian Tugwell adjudged Anthony Winders to be held in the box and awarded a penalty. Winders then stepped up and coolly slotted the ball past Kyle Robojot for the equaliser.

Parity did not last long, though, as Sports soon regained the upper hand. Great work down the left side from the impressive Dan Tong saw his cross tipped away by Trevor, with Dave Blake on hand to head home.

With four minutes to go, substitute Dan Clark looked to have put the game to bed when he made it 3-1 with his first touch of the game. But despite trailing by two goals with just three minutes remaining, Con were in no mood to roll over.

A fine solo effort from skipper Tom Willis handed them a lifeline and then Martin Sault dramatically levelled with the final kick of normal time to take the game to an unlikely extra 30 minutes.

With a breakthrough not forthcoming, the game went to spot kicks.

After the teams traded misses and successful efforts, the shoot-out went to sudden death, with Clark holding his nerve to claim the silverware for Sports.
