DANIEL Davidsson has reiterated there is no bad blood between him and the Pirates promotion following his shock full transfer to Lakeside.

The Swede has also promised to try to fulfil Matt Ford’s prophecy that he will probably come back to Poole and haunt his former club in the future.

Davidsson said: “When I left Poole last season I said there were no hard feelings between Matt, Middlo (Neil Middleditch), Giles (Hartwell) and myself and it’s still the same.”

The Swede, involved in a rider swap deal that saw Ricky Kling become a Pirates asset, added: “This is now and you can never know what will happen.

“If (Lakeside promoter) Jon Cook told me to go out on loan to Poole, there is no problem, but I think this is a good move for me to get away.

“It’s been up and down with Pirates for me. The fans have been on my side and then after me.

“It’ll be good to have a bit of peace and quiet, hopefully, and ride without any hassles.

“It’s like a fresh start and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I was keen to go there last season after Poole dropped me, but for some reason, and I don’t know exactly why, it didn’t happen.

“So when I got the chance again, I was 100 per cent sure I wanted to go straight away.

“I think I’ll start off at reserve. So my goal is to go up to the main one-to-five as soon as possible.

“It’ll be a new experience to see how Lakeside operate.

“I’m not really sure about the make-up of our team, but last season they were strong and they are always a strong team at home.

“Hopefully I can help them win and ride well myself.”

Ford revealed it was Davidsson’s decision to move once the Dorset club had received Hammers’ offer, but Poole Castle Cover’s owner added: “I still rate Daniel.

“I still believe he’s a very good rider and I’m sure he’ll come back at times and haunt us.”

Davidsson, who’d been contracted to Pirates since 2003, said: “Poole is always a very hard track to go to as the away team, although last year was an exception.

“Looking at the guys they’ve signed so far for next year, it looks great for them to say the least.

“Still, Wimborne Road is absolutely one of my favourite tracks in the world, so if I have a great day, I might get a few points!”

Kyle Legault, who rode one meeting for Pirates before a broken thigh cruelly curtailed his 2009 campaign, has joined Newport on loan from parent club Sheffield.
