THE Cherries head into Europe for the very first time and they'll be looking to pick up a positive result in arguably the toughest game of the league phase on paper.

Real Sociedad are their hosts on Thursday night, their away draw from pot one, and Marco Rose will be looking to start on the front foot.

Rose's selections throughout the league phase will be restricted by his Europa League squad, which features 21 of the first team players, due to UEFA restrictions.

So, how will Bournemouth line up? The Daily Echo predicts the team for Thursday's game in San Sebastian.

Goalkeeper

Rose made clear at the weekend that Djordje Petrovic was his number one for the Premier League and Europa League.

The Serbian will start.

Defenders

Rose doesn't have many options in defence in terms of the wider squad, with only six defenders in the Europa League squad.

I think the boss will opt for the same back four that has played every Premier League game so far.

That will see Adrien Truffert play at left back, Adam Smith will skipper the side from right back and James Hill and Antonio Silva will partner at centre back.

Midfielders

This will be a crucial part for Bournemouth to control, and I think Rose will go for Tyler Adams and Alex Scott, who have both been excellent so far this season.

Forwards

I think Rose would be most likely to make a change amongst the forward ranks, with more options available to him.

But he is happy with the chance creation so far, and they just need to become more clinical in front of goal.

He might opt for Alvaro Rodriguez as someone who is familiar with La Liga, but I wonder if he might be used off the bench again.

So I will predict that they will be unchanged once again.

That will see Evanilson lead the line, with the in-form Marcus Tavernier playing off the left, Justin Kluivert in the ten and Rayan on the right.

Full team: Petrovic; Truffert, Silva, Hill, Smith; Adams, Scott; Tavernier, Kluivert, Rayan; Evanilson.
