THE Cherries were wasteful in front of goal as they again were not able to hold onto a lead in the Premier League in a 2-2 draw with bogey side Brentford.
It was August 2014 the last time Bournemouth beat the Bees in the league and that wait goes on.
The sides were level at the break after Justin Kluivert cancelled out Kevin Schade’s opening goal.
Bournemouth started the second half brightly and looked the better of the two sides, before deservedly taking the lead through Marcus Tavernier as he scored his third goal of the season.
But the Bees were level after Djordje Petrovic passed straight to Schade and was chipped by the German four minutes after Tavernier’s goal and shortly before the hour mark.

The Cherries pushed for a winner but weren’t able to get themselves in front, despite throwing everything at Caoimhin Kelleher’s goal, with 20 shots, ten on target across the 90 minutes.
The wait for Marco Rose’s first Premier League win goes on.
Rose named an unchanged side from the team that drew at Newcastle last weekend, meaning eight changes from the 4-0 cup victory over Lincoln City in midweek.
There were three former Cherries players in the Brentford side, as Jaidon Anthony started, while Dango Ouattara and Callum Wilson were on the bench.
The Bees had the first sight of goal as Keane Lewis-Potter aimed to curl the ball into the net at the far post, but it went wide with Djordje Petrovic unmoved.
Bournemouth threatened at the other end as Marcus Tavernier delivered a wonderful free kick which he won himself and found Antonio Silva who had got free in the box, but his header clipped the outside of the post and went wide.

Chances were few and far between in the opening half an hour, although Bournemouth looked bright coming forward without threatening too much.
Rayan looked energetic down the Cherries right and he twice beat his man to lift a cross into the box, with the second one palmed away by Caoimhin Kelleher from inside his six yard box, shortly after the Brazilian had seen a shot from range blocked.
While Bournemouth seemed to be building into the game and had had the lion’s share of possession, it was the visitors who took the lead with 11 minutes left until the break.
The usually unflappable Adrien Truffert was at fault, as he did well to win the ball from Anthony, but a heavy touch saw Mamadou Sangaré win it back, pass to Yehor Yarmoliuk and his delivery was headed in by Schade despite Petrovic’s best efforts.

Bournemouth should have been level moments later when Rayan blasted over the bar from close range after a Kluivert shot was palmed out to him.
But the Cherries did not have long to wait before they equalised as their leveller came four minutes after the Bees opened the scoring.
Evanilson played the ball to Kluivert at the top of the box, he made space for a shot under pressure from a number of defenders and falling off balance and powered into the bottom corner and wrong-footing Kelleher.
Referee Jarred Gillett waved away two Brentford penalty shouts in stoppage time at the end of the first half, as the opening 45 minutes ended level pegging.

Bournemouth started the second period well.
Kluivert saw a powerful effort palmed over the bar by Kelleher shortly after the resumption, before Silva headed just wide from the resulting Tavernier corner.
Alex Scott missed a golden opportunity when he was played in on goal by Evanilson after some neat build up play, but the midfielder sliced the bouncing ball high and wide off target.
But the Cherries deservedly took the lead with 52 minutes on the clock.
A brilliant ball over the top of the Brentford defence from Silva found Evanilson, the Brazilian brought it down well and he teed up Tavernier who arrowed the ball into the bottom corner.

There were four minutes between goals again as Brentford quickly capitalised on a Petrovic error to equalise.
James Hill played the ball back to the keeper and the Serbian looked for a pass instead of clearing, it went straight to Schade and he chipped the ball into the net after taking a touch.
Ryan Christie replaced Kluivert after 66 minutes and he was quickly involved as Bournemouth came forward and Tavernier tested Kelleher from range.
The Englishman, who is in a rich vein of goalscoring form at the start of the season, then saw a free kick from 25 yards caught by the Irish keeper.
Kelleher was again called into action as Tyler Adams powered towards goal, the keeper at full stretch to keep it out.

Rayan volleyed off target from an Evanilson cross, before the young Brazilian curled just wide from the top of the box after some excellent footwork from Scott created space for the Cherries.
Truffert shot straight at Kelleher after cutting onto his right foot, before Rose made a triple change, as Lewis Cook, David Brooks and Ben Gannon-Doak came on for Adams, Tavernier and Rayan with eight minutes to play.
Both sides continued to search for the deciding goal and Alvaro Rodriguez came on up front for Evanilson as the game moved into stoppage time.
Kelleher saved comfortably from a Truffert shot, before a deflected Gannon-Doak effort thumped the post and bounced to safety as Bournemouth sought the winner.

But they weren’t able to find it and the spoils were shared.
That takes Bournemouth onto three points from four games in the Premier League, with a trip to Spain in midweek to get their Europa League campaign up and running against Real Sociedad.
