EVANILSON will get on a goal scoring run and he will score “15 to 20 goals” this season, Marco Rose said.

The Brazilian is yet to get off the mark this season, although he has provided two assists for teammates, as he looks to improve on his return of six goals and four assists in all competitions last term.

He missed a good chance at 1-0 at Newcastle, and he will no doubt be looking to get a goal or two before the international break to build some confidence in front of goal.

The striker is key to how Bournemouth play as it is his energy that leads the side’s press, which prompted previous boss Andoni Iraola to heap praise on Evanilson for everything he brought to the side, and Rose is no different.

Iraola often said he did not judge Evanilson on his goals, and Rose said exactly the same.

Asked about his goalscoring, Rose told the Daily Echo: “I love Eva.

“His effort, he's a real team player, so he assists goals. And of course, everyone would wish him that he's going to score 15, 20 goals this season.

“And I think he's able to do it. He has the quality. But I don't judge him just with goals.

“For me, it's much more important how he is working out of possession, how he supports us in transition, how he assists goals.

“And I think that the goal scoring is coming in certain phases of the season by itself.

“So if he starts to score, he's going to get in a run and then he's going to score 10, 15, 20 goals this season. He has the quality.”
