ANOTHER weekend of football action is upon us and there are plenty of local games across the Dorset area.

Wimborne Town are at home again this weekend as they host Bracknell Town at The Wyatt Homes Stadium.

The Magpies come off the back of a 3-1 win at Portishead on Tuesday night as they progressed through to the Second Round Qualifying of the FA Cup.

Substitutes Joe Smith and Owen Roundell both found themselves on the scoresheet in injury time to help Tim Sills' team go through, where they will travel to Weston Super-Mare on the 19th September.

Wimborne are just outside of the relegation zone with six points from their opening six matches, albeit they have only lost twice so far this campaign.

The last time the sides met was on the final day of last season and it ended in a 3-3 draw with Will Fletcher scoring a brace on the day.

Poole Town are also in action as they travel to Westleigh Park to face Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.

The Dolphins come off the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Bishops Cleeve which brought their FA Cup journey to an end.

Ik Hill has been on form for Joe Lea and Pat Suraci's side with four goals in his last four matches.

Brandon Goodship has been returning to full fitness for the Dolphins but is yet to start his first game in Poole Town colours.

Shaquille Gwengwe was the star of the show the last time the sides met as he scored a brace on the final day of the 2025/26 season in a 2-0 win at Tatnam Stadium.

Hamworthy Recreation are still unbeaten in the Wessex Premier Division and had a strong 3-1 win against Petersfield Town last weekend with goals from Oliver Davies, Jake Dove and Bailey Rowe; they travel to Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Brockenhurst found a last-minute winner against Horndean last Saturday and will look to build on that with a trip to Frimley Green in the FA Vase this weekend.

Bournemouth Poppies are also in the FA Vase this Saturday, they travel to Romsey Town, whilst Christchurch make the trip down to Cowes Sport.

Hamworthy United are still winless this season and make the short trip to Ringwood Town this weekend in the FA Vase.

In the Dorset Premier Division, league leaders Bournemouth Electric host Gillingham Town, whilst Cobham Sports are at home against Dorchester Sports and Bournemouth Sports travel to Swanage Town & Herston.
