MARCO Rose loved his return to his former club Mainz to bring Bournemouth’s pre-season to a close.
The Cherries were beaten 2-1 by the Bundesliga team, where Rose spent close to a decade of his playing career, and where he started coaching in the latter years of his time as a player.
He played under the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel at the German club, and Rose compared the club’s rise to the Bundesliga, as they reached the top flight for the first time in 2004 under Klopp, with Rose in the side.
The German got his first taste of coaching under Tuchel in a brief stint as an assistant while still playing, before taking a more active role with the second team.

Speaking after the game, Rose said: "I love to be here.
"My daughter was born here. I was here for 12 years, I know many people. For me, it's a little bit comparable, the feeling, with Bournemouth.
"It's family.
"And everyone is beside this, [they are] very ambitious, want to win games, want to go the next step, want to improve.
"And yeah, I love to be here.”
