MAX Aarons is searching for more minutes in the Cherries team after being left out of the squad at Nottingham Forest.
The defender missed out on the squad selected for the first game of the season, with new signing Julian Araujo starting on the bench.
Araujo signed from Barcelona this summer and looked bright in his debut, replacing Adam Smith.
Rumours have linked Aarons with a move away from the Vitality Stadium, with Leeds reportedly interested.
Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo: “He's trying to get more minutes like the others.
“I think you can be out of the squad and next day you start.
“Sometimes I try to prioritize, when selecting the 20 players, more the offensive players, because normally during the game, most of the times you feel the need of changing them because probably defenders finish better, survive better.
“I normally don't go more than two, three defenders on the bench because I try to have more options for the strikers, for the wingers, for the number ten because it's the position that I normally change.”
