CHERRIES will keep searching for further improvement despite their strong form according to winger Marcus Tavernier.
Six wins and a solitary draw in Cherries’ last seven games have seen the current crop of players at Vitality Stadium match the club’s longest unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
22 points from the last 27 available has seen Cherries rise up to 12th in the league table at the time of writing.
That is in stark contrast to the start of the campaign, with Cherries winless in the first nine Premier League fixtures of Andoni Iraola’s reign.
The former Middlesbrough man shared how everyone was playing with a smile on their faces and relishing the quick turnaround between games.
But Tavernier believes Cherries cannot afford to rest on their laurels, sharing how he was aware how things can quickly change.
Discussing the Spurs fixture, Tavernier told the Daily Echo: “We know they're a top side and they have been this season with the new manager.
“It's going to be another tough test, so we need to recover right, get analysis on the (Fulham) game and lead into Tottenham and hopefully we can pick up another positive result.”
Cherries’ trip to the capital on New Year’s Eve ends a run of three games in nine days, with Cherries victorious over Nottingham Forest and Fulham in fixtures either side of Christmas.
Much is made of the festive schedule with games crammed in, but Tavernier does not believe there is a huge difference between playing at Noel in comparison to a week with a midweek fixture.
“I wouldn't say it's too much different,” he began.
“We've come from the Championship, we know that sort of period.
“We can cope with a busy amount of games. And when you're on a run like we're on, it's great.
“We just want to continue playing as quick as possible and get good results again.
“I think you can see that with the way we're playing on the pitch, everyone's playing with a smile on their face and we're playing for each other and it's a great place to be at the moment.”
Tavernier refused to look too far ahead when it came to end of season finishes.
“I mean, we take it game at a time,” he diplomatically responded to Sky Sports when probed.
“The standard answer, as always, that's all we can do.
“We've got to keep our feet on the floor.
“I mean, everything's going well for us at the moment, but we know in this league things can change very quickly.
“So we just have to continue focusing on what we can do better.
“I mean football's a big confidence game and at the moment we're full of it as a team.
“So we go into any game thinking we can do what we want to and hopefully we can continue to do that against Tottenham.”
