CHERRIES women marched on in the FA Cup, defeating Bridgwater United 5-0 in the first round proper to match their best ever run in the competition.
Steve Cuss named an unchanged side from the team that ran out 4-0 winners over Portishead at Vitality Stadium last weekend.
Goalscorers from that game, Maisy Smith and Helen Bleazard, were both back on the scoresheet in the first half.
Lucy Cooper made it three early on in the second period, before Katie James and Gemma Hillier made sure of the result.
It is just the second time Cherries have reached the second round of the competition, last doing so in 2021 when they were knocked out by Portsmouth.
Cherries will receive £6,000 for their victory. Second round ties will be staged at the end of this month, the weekend of Sunday, November 26.
