POOLE Town shipped five goals at home to promotion rivals Chesham United, the away side punishing an early red card.

Declan Rose was controversially dismissed for the Dolphins on the half-hour mark, the final 60 minutes of the game containing seven goals as Poole lost 5-2.

Ricardo German led the way for Chesham, notching a treble, his hat-trick broken up by further strikes from Zak Joseph and Ogochukwu Obi.

Tony Lee’s briefly restored parity after German had opened scores, but Harvey Wright’s late goal proved scant consolation.

Prior to the red card shown to Rose, Poole enjoyed a spell of heavy possession, but were unable to take their opportunities.

Striker Toby Holmes was forced off due to blurred vision following a collision shortly before the half-hour mark.

There was further personnel changes moments later, when Rose was adjudged by match official Thomas Copping to have recklessly caught Eoin Casey.

To counteract the loss of a defender, midfielder Billy Lowes was sacrificed, with full back Harvey Bertrand introduced at his expense.

The man advantage prompted heavy pressure from the visitors, Poole almost making it to the safety of the interval unscathed.

In added time Harry Rush’s initial effort from the edge of the area clanged off the post, German reacting quickest to prod home the opener.

Poole managed to bring scores level just before the hour mark, when Lee turned home Harry Hutchinson’s cross in a crowded Chesham penalty area.

But five minutes later, Chesham would be back in the lead. Ogo’s delivery from the left was tempting for both German and Joseph, the latter turning the ball home to restore his side’s advantage.

Ogo would provide an assist for the third goal, again working down the left flank to feed German for his second of the game.

He would get on the scoresheet minutes after, opting to go on his own before placing the ball past Max Evans in the Poole goal.

Wright briefly reduced the deficit in the 88th minute, before German finished off his hat-trick in stoppage time.
