POOLE Town have allowed Alefe Santos to leave the club, after he received an approach from National League North outfit Gloucester City.

Brazilian Santos joined Dolphins in the summer from Chippenham Town, having also had spells at Bristol Rovers, Derby County, Notts County, Eastleigh, Yeovil Town, Aldershot Town and Weymouth.

The 28-year-old featured regularly early this season for Poole, but has struggled for game-time in recent weeks since the appointment of Matt Tubbs as boss.

A statement from Dolphins read: “With Alefe’s pitch time having been limited with us of late we felt that it was not right to stand in his way.

“He leaves us on the best of terms and with our very good wishes for the future.”

Announcing the signing of Sao Paulo-born Santos, Gloucester boss Mike Brown, formerly of Chippenham, said: “We’re delighted that Alefe has joined.

“Having worked with him before, I know he will bring plenty of creativity which we have been missing, and will also entertain the fans with his attacking flair.”

Poole return to action this evening, hosting Tiverton Town in Southern Premier South.
