THE first leg of Poole Pirates’ SGB Championship grand final against Glasgow Tigers has been postponed, due to wet weather.
Pirates were due to head north of the border this evening, to take on the Tigers at Ashfield.
But heavy rain in Scotland throughout the weekend has washed the contest out.
A brief statement from Glasgow read: “Despite the best efforts of the track staff, the rain has beaten us this morning and tonight’s Cab Direct Championship final against Poole is off.”
It has been rescheduled for tomorrow, with a 7.30pm start time.

The second leg is still due to take place at Wimborne Road on Wednesday (7.30pm).
It is set to be a busy week for Pirates, who go to Scunthorpe Scorpions for the first leg of the Knockout Cup final on Friday, with the second leg set for Wednesday, October 18 (both 7.30pm).
Scunthorpe, who have never won the trophy, booked their place in the final with victory over Redcar Bears on Friday.
