SCUNTHORPE Scorpions have booked their place in the Championship Knockout Cup final with a two-legged victory over Redcar Bears.
Leading by 18 points from the first leg, Scorpions made light work of the Bears on Friday night in the second leg to win with five heats to spare, progressing 103-77 on aggregate.
Pirates, who themselves booked their spot in the KO Cup final way back in May, have won the trophy in each of the past two years.
Scorpions have never lifted the trophy.
The two sides have battled it out in four thrilling meetings already this season, notably in the play-offs last month, where Pirates edged through into the league final.
Scunthorpe will host Poole in the first leg of the KO Cup final on Friday, October 13, with the second leg at Wimborne Road on Wednesday, October 18 (both 7.30pm).
